COLUMBUS,
Ohio -- We
are pleased to announce that the 19th Annual Tennisfax Classic
has been awarded an upgrade to Midwest Level 5 status for junior
ranking purposes. The tournament will be held June 27-July 1,
2009 at a site to be announced. The tournament is a COGP event
and also offers divisions for adults.

Club. The tournament will be held December 26-31 and is an official
Midwest level championship offering approximately $5000 in prize

COGP is pleased to announce the addition of four junior tournaments
to the fall/winter schedule. They are compass draw Junior tournaments
to be held at Elysium Tennis Club in Dublin. All participants
are guaranteed 4 matches - 2 Friday night and 2 Saturday night.
There will also be a pizza party on the Saturday night of each
event.

COGP is pleased to welcome Scott Gerber as a commentator. He has
done extensive studies of junior player performance in USTA tournaments.
His USTA Junior National Championship Analysis and the USTA Junior
Midwest Closed Analysis provide information on the performance
of the various USTA Sections (i.e. Florida, Southern California,
Midwest) in the National Championships and the various Districts
(i.e. Ohio Valley, Chicago) in the Midwest Closed Championships.
He
has also done a study on the performance of players from the different
districts in the Ohio High School Athletic Association state tennis
tournament.

is the season for updating the Tennisfax/COGP Rankings. Tournaments
in the fall and winter of 2007 are included in the 2008 ranking
calculations. The final 2008 rankings will be compiled through
the COGP Masters tournament held over the Labor Day weekend. Check
back for updates in the coming weeks.
