Scott Welsh played his first COGP event in years by partnering Wes Bishop in the men's doubles at New Albany. He made his comeback memorable by sharing the title and the Adult Player of the Week Award with Bishop. They beat the #1 seeded team of Tom Oliver and Scott Sahl in the first round 3-6 7-5 7-5, then Mark Mathias and Wayne Manifold 6-0 7-6 (2) in the semis and #2 seeds Pete Mudre, Jr. and Steve Mudre 3-6 7-5 6-1 in the final. |

Udit Singhal made his COGP debut memorable as well. He won the boys' 12 singles title and was runner-up in the boys' 14 singles division. For his outstanding performance, he was named the Junior Player of the Week. In the boys' 12 draw, he beat Preston Phillips 6-0 6-1 in the semis and Matt Gordon 6-1 6-1 in the final. In the boys' 14s, Singhal defeated Ryan French 6-4 7-5 then #2 seed Aalok Modi in the semis before losing to #1 seed Ryan Dodd 6-1 6-2. |
